Bag Lunch
At Noah at Central, we recognize that meeting basic needs is the first step toward stability and self-sufficiency. Our Bag Lunch Program ensures that individuals experiencing homelessness have access to a nutritious meal, providing both sustenance and a sense of community. This program is a cornerstone of our efforts to build trust and connection with those we serve.
How It Works
Monday through Thursday, our dedicated Bag Lunch & Volunteer Coordinator leads a team of volunteers distributing bagged lunches to individuals who come through our doors. Each bag contains a well-balanced meal designed to meet dietary needs and provide energy for the day ahead. Typical lunches include:
- A sandwich
- A salty snack
- A sweet treat
- Bottled water
Occasionally, we are also able to provide hot meals through partnerships with local organizations or generous groups. These hot meals are a special treat for our clients, offering comfort and variety while showcasing the care of our community.
Where Do the Lunches Come From?
The Bag Lunch Program relies on the generosity of our community. The lunches are made possible through:
- Individual Donors: Many of the items used in our lunches come from individuals who donate food, snacks, and bottled water.
- Community Groups: Churches, schools, & other organizations often organize food drives or contribute prepared meals.
- Corporate Partners: Local businesses and companies provide funding or supplies to support our program.
- Volunteers: When donated meals aren’t provided, volunteers dedicate their time to preparing, assembling, and distributing lunches we make with purchases from food banks and wholesalers, ensuring consistency for our clients.

While the Bag Lunch Program primarily addresses hunger, it also serves as a gateway to other services at Noah at Central. By meeting clients’ immediate needs, we create opportunities to build relationships and introduce them to our comprehensive range of support services, including:
